The students of Dehradun Hills Academy celebrated World Voice Day to raise awareness about the importance of the voice in our daily lives, as well as to highlight the significance of vocal health and education worldwide. The aim of celebrating World Voice Day is to raise awareness about the significance of vocal health, effective communication, and the prevention of voice disorders.

Through education, cultural celebration, and community engagement, the day promotes understanding and appreciation of the diverse voices worldwide. It advocates for proper vocal care and empowers individuals to take proactive steps to maintain vocal health. Ultimately, World Voice Day serves as a platform to highlight the importance of the voice in personal, professional, and cultural contexts, fostering a global dialogue on the value of vocal expression and well-being.

In celebration of World Voice Day, our school recently hosted a series of events over the past 2-3 days, aimed at amplifying the voices of our students and celebrating the diversity of perspectives. Led by Ayaan, Lobsang, Anup, Kavesh, Prachi, and supported by our dedicated teachers, we organized engaging podcasts with parents, visitors, and guests, covering a range of topics.

The objective was clear: to provide opportunities for our students to express themselves freely and to embrace the richness of their voices. These events not only celebrated the power of expression but also underscored the importance of listening and valuing each individual's unique voice, embodying the spirit of World Voice Day.

In alignment with the theme of World Voice Day 2024, 'Resonate, Educate, Celebrate.', our event aimed to spotlight the voice as not only a means of communication but also as a form of artistic performance. By inviting Mr. Shlok Gera, a renowned drum-circle artist, along with his crew members Udaiveer, we sought to celebrate the universal language of music and showcase how voices, regardless of language, unite us all.

Their journey in music, shared with our students and staff, served as a powerful reminder of the inherent connection we all share through the expression of our voices. This collaboration embodied the essence of World Voice Day, emphasizing the joy and camaraderie found in celebrating our voices together.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yudhishter Puran Singh, Managing Director, stated, “In our boutique school, we prioritize providing our students with diverse experiences, recognizing that exposure plays a crucial role in their development. We take pride in nurturing independence among our students, offering them opportunities for growth and responsibility. The recent event was not only memorable but also invaluable in this regard. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shlok and his team for generously sharing their time with us. Their presence underscored the profound connection between music and voice, reminding us how these elements unite us and enrich our shared experiences.”

Ayaan Saluja from SC Form eloquently expressed, "Your voice is your identity. It reveals everything about who you are, how you feel, and what you stand for." This sentiment resonated deeply with me during my first drum circle event participation. It was a truly enjoyable experience, highlighting the power of voice and music to connect us with our true selves and others.

The initiative was led by staff members namely Sakshi Sharma, Preeti Kala, Mohit Singh among others.
